MARQUETRY

Marquetry is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a substrate in order to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures.
 
The generic term, "Marquetry", can refer to a number of finishes each involving different techniques and skills. From marquetry, parquetry, inlay to Boulle, these pieces can be complex conservation projects, using a variety of materials and processes.
 
We undertake the conservation of all aspects of these objects, using traditional techniques and materials where possible and modern synthetic substitutes in the case of ivory and tortoiseshell to achieve the best results for each piece.
